FAQ's

What is the difference between silk charmuese and habutai silk?
Silk charmeuse is said to be the Queen of silks because of its luster and beauty. It is soft, thick, shiny and light. Often used after cosmetic surgery and for people with sensitive skin because it is the softest of silks and its properties. Silk charmeuse properties help keep the skin hydrated while you sleep and does not tug at the skin or hair, helping to prevent and reduce wrinkles, keeping hairstyles fresh and reducing “bed head”.
Habutai silk is silk more in it’s raw silk form, while it also comes in many colors it is thinner and more lightweight but is still soft to the touch and face, prevents “bed head” and keeps the skin soft, hydrated and helps prevent the onset of lines and wrinkles.
Don’t silk and satin do the same thing?
Charmeuse satin is soft to the touch of the face and does not pull or tug at your hair while sleeping. There is also a price difference and is easier to maintain. To compare the reasons on which is best for you based on your needs go to WHY SILK/ SATIN?
What is it that makes silk different from other fabrics
Silk is made up of silk proteins and over 18 different kinds of amino acids. Silk is a thread left behind on the mulberry bush by the silk worm and the amino acid complex it is made up of is what is said to keep your skin healthy and hydrated while you sleep. It is an all natural, breathable, hypo-allergenic material, resistant to dust, dust mites, mold and mildew.
Which one do you think is best for me?
If you want one of the best and our most popular pillowcase you should get the Charmeuse Silk. It is an especially soft and silky, long lasting pillowcase, that has all of the properties you would want. It is hypoallergenic, hydrating, great for sensitive skin, good up keep hair, reducing split ends and "bed head," than this is the one for you.
If you want all the properties of the charmeuse, but something in-between the feel of silky softness and the feel of cotton, the Habutai Silk is best. It is silk more in a raw, less processed form, yet luxuriously wonderful on the skin and hair.
If you want something that is soft on the skin and does not pull on your hair while you sleep, our silky satin is a great selection. Helping to prevent the onset of fine-lines and wrinkles and split ends.
I have a sensitive skin and would like to know which is better, silk or satin?
Silk. Silk lets your skin breath, is hypoallergenic, antibacterial, anti-fungal, good in any climate and is recommended by dermatologist for people with blemishes, acne, eczema, after cosmetic surgery and for a better night sleep.
What’s the big deal? I’ve used cotton all of my life and it seems fine to me.
Cotton is the industry standard therefore more available. Only 2% of the world’s textiles are silk because it can be very difficult to produce. Cotton and other synthetic fabrics absorb moister from the skin and hair, it is also not as soft as silk so it does not move and pull on the face as cotton does while you sleep. Silk lets the face glide softly and stay in place more evenly unlike the pull of cotton. Silk has been used for the hair and skin for thousands of years by Kings and Queens all over the world to keep you looking younger longer and as the fabric of Royals.
